Re: [Xylo-SDR] Cases

Guys,

First of all I've been lurking in the back ground silently on this reflector, reading every post and understanding only a fraction of what is being said, but learning tons on the way (heck, I now even know what FPGA stands for!). However, I am possibly very interested in any product(s) that may come out of this.

That being said, here's just a wild thought regarding the cases, based on absolutely no expertise whatsoever, but if the cases are about twice as deep as is desired, perhaps the motherboard could be mounted in the center, with daughter boards coming off both sides? (I warned you, I wasn't hampered by expertise!). Anyway, just my 2 cts worth.

Guys

Thanks? Yes I been on these sites, and quite a few others. The BPS site has the closest to what we want. Most are too deep or not high enough, since we are looking at 2x4 inch card preferably with the 4 inch side forward to give us more connector mounting area. In that configuration we are looking for an enclosure approximately 2 to 2.5  inches deep, more like an electrical outlet box. Sorry I left all my research at work or would post sites. Another option which is not bad but will require a little more mounting objectives is to go ahead and get a deeper box and mount the MB forward in the enclosure at at a 2 inch depth and use the area behind the MB mounting for power supply or larger items like an ovenized oscillator, GPS receiver etc. There are extrusions with a top and bottom shell structure with would better ?fit? this type of mounting. What would be ideal in this scenario would be a vertical slot milling, but have not seen that.

Eric

There is a PDF file on that page that list several other manufacturers.

I fail to see why doing the same thing over and over and getting the same results every time is insanity: I've almost proved it isn't; only a few more tests now and I'm sure results will differ this time ...
