How about compact PCI?

http://www.picmg.org/test/compci.htm

Eurocard-size boards and a hard-metric 2mm connector with 220 pins! Lots of
cases, power supplies, etc.

Continuing on this theme, we could have the computer (WinXP or Linux) inside the box, as well. PCI interface chips are quite cheap, or FPGAs could perform the interface function. cPCI has provision for screening of modules, and there are no problems incorporating RF connectors.
