You can get a nice laptop for under $1000, I bet this thing cost a lot more, and it don't seem too speedy. For Less that $100 you can get a power adapter that runs from a car battery.

The laptop would be more flexible, you can take it with you anywhere you need it.

Ya got that right! (smile). But with the SHFers and County Hunters and others. This rig with Phil_C?s radio in a small box and a DC-DC ATX supply it would make one heck of a portable rig. All?s we need now is a tiny VGA display which runs off 12 V!

I fail to see why doing the same thing over and over and getting the same results every time is insanity: I've almost proved it isn't; only a few more tests now and I'm sure results will differ this time ...
