I mentioned a problem with Dia - the inability to attach more than one lineto the side of a shape, like a box. This is mentioned in the FAQ as alimitation with the current version. A - somewhat crude - fix is to place aline along the box side and add connection points to it. This works with aline, unlike a shape. The line and box may then be grouped together. Itworks OK, and the added lines are rubber-banded when the box is moved.
