Although we have decided in favor of the TI chips mentioned by PhilC, due to availability, I had inquired of a local Wolfson rep to purchase a quantity of 20 chips for our development. Tomorrow he is bringing me 20 free samples of the 8785 part and 20 of the 8971 part. If anyone is interested in a free sample of either or both of these parts I would be glad to send them to you. Although they are difficult to get as ?non-oem? folks, I feel that if we ever went to production we could find a source.

 

I am not arguing for or against using this part, just offering, since apparently I will be getting them tomorrow. Phil has already made a compelling argument for the TI parts.
