Re: [Xylo-SDR] xylo-sdr Digest, Vol 2, Issue 52

Folks

Any of you Lurkers wanna design us identical aluminum end panels and get us a price from:

http://www.emachineshop.com/

Doesn’t cost anything, and all we need is a aluminum plate (2 per enclosure) with radiused corners, the drill tool to drill holes for mounting in the corners. I think there is a stamping machine which should do the trick. The software is free anyway. About 10,000 quantity should do when we turn this fun into a project. WHATEVER you do don’t order just one. Volume pricing is considerable!

If we can beat the $15 Rose price, and the ends are less than the whole, we be in bidness.

Thanks

Eric

Thanks, just as long as we still have lurkers! I was afraid we were losing everyone to boredom!

I've actually added a header for a jumper.

I've added the connection from CLKOUT to the FPGA.

Latest version has been uploaded.

The Pulsonix software I use allows me to assign a pin swap condition to any
pin. I've done that for the FPGA so that connections may be optimised on the
PCB, and the schematic back-annotated with any changes.

Be careful the clock pins are not swapable with ordinary i/o pins,
the FX2 clock and the module clock need to be connected to clock inputs.

Thanks. I forgot that for the FX2 clock. The oscillator module is OK.

Looks like it's computer generated art, not a picture of the real thing.

I like the dimensions, specially for the first run and creating a
development environment, it's nice to have room for several cards.
And it looks like we would have a lot of freedom in where we place
the cards. like it has been mentioned before 3/4" spacing is a goo d compromise.

How deep were you thinking of making the boxes. I would not mind one
cut to about 9" to 10" deep for prototype work. For the faceplate it
would be nice to countersink the screw holes so they are flush. Satin
anodized to red, blue, or silk would make the box look gorgeous. I'll
have to ask around work and see if they run that process somewhere. I
know they do black oxide here locally where I work, and a sick
looking dark yellow green. The black anodize actually looks quite
good on the parts they do it to.

Do you have a price for the raw material? I think they sell it in one
meter length.
